Mark Thomas’s Lockdown Live series continues with award winning show Check Up: Our NHS @ 70, in which Mark spent a month shadowing nurses, consultants and staff at the Imperial Group of NHS hospitals. From gastric sleeves to major trauma to dementia wards and back again Mark was there to witness our NHS in action. This is the story he tells interspersed with interviews with … *gasp* … experts such as Professor Michael Marmot -the government expert on health inequalities to the then Chief Medical Advisor Prof Dame Sally Davies. The result is a surprisingly emotional look at the state we are in.

This time Mark is going back to some of those experts to conduct live interviews after the show about the state of our health. How is the NHS doing? Where does it go next? What do we need to do?

Buy a ticket to the livestream of ‘Mark Thomas's Check-up: Our NHS at 70’ – Tuesday 16th February at 7:30pm – £5 Admission. In 2018, Mark was 54 and the NHS was 70. UK national average life expectancy is 84.If Mark makes it to 84 the NHS will be 100 … what will they both look like? Directed by Nicolas Kent. Supported by the Wellcome Trust. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the NHS, award-winning comedian and activist Mark Thomas takes a look at our NHS, what state it’s in, where it’s going, and what we need to do to keep it.
